On behalf of Amgen Australia our deepest sympathies go out to all of those families and communities devastated by the Victorian bushfires. This is an unprecedented tragedy and, like all Australians, we have watched in disbelief as events continue to unfold.
The men and women of our emergency services and the countless volunteers are all to be commended for their bravery and perseverance during this difficult time. The determination and overwhelming support of the Australian community to gather together to help those most in need. Like many other businesses, Amgen has launched its own fundraising appeal and will be encouraging its staff to contribute financial and in-kind donations with all monies collected to be donated to the Australian Red Cross. In addition, our parent company through its philanthropic arm, the Amgen Foundation, will be contributing $100,000 to the Australian Red Cross
Our contribution is one of many, but we know that every donation is another step towards a recovery from this, our greatest national tragedy.
